Therapeutic Approach
At Embrace Your Light Counseling and Wellness, your therapist is trained in a variety of clinical approaches to support individuals in their recovery from traumatic events. Eclectic talk therapy combines different therapeutic approaches to fit each client’s unique needs in a holistic manner, including the use of techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-based CBT, and more. This flexibility allows clients to explore their traumatic experiences from various angles, helping them gain insight and promote healing.
Trauma therapists are specially trained to address the specific effects of trauma, which can be very different from what traditional talk therapists focus on. They understand how trauma affects the brain and emotions, allowing them to provide targeted, effective support that fosters healing and resilience.

Brainspotting is a technique that helps clients access and process trauma by focusing on specific eye positions. Research shows that this method can tap into the brain’s natural ability to process emotions, making it easier for clients to release painful feelings, recover from traumatic situations, and eliminate negative beliefs. Together, these approaches create a powerful way to help clients recover from trauma and regain control over their lives.
